Based on our research, Dr Kongkiat Laorwong is a senior surgeon at Absolute Hair Clinic in Bangkok who runs a very systemized, busy practice with roughly 1 to 2 surgeries per day. He is often described as highly skilled, results-focused, and a man of few words.12345 From what we have seen, many patients and community observers consider him among Thailand’s leading hair transplant surgeons, with a large volume of documented cases, including credible repair work after hair-mill procedures.367 We have also come across concerns about variability in his outcomes and questions about whether rising demand and throughput have affected consistency.898 He is generally viewed as less personable than his partner Dr Ratchathorn, but still professional, open to patient input on hairline design, and able to communicate fluently in English.2101145

Our read is that Dr Laorwong offers a high ceiling with non-trivial downside. We have read many accounts of dense, natural hairlines and solid donor management, yet there are also credible reports of patchy density, weak or failed growth, and frustration with his in-room involvement and communication.1121323869714158 The practice appears to operate at scale with a tight system and strong international demand. That brings efficiency and structured aftercare, but it also raises reasonable concerns about technician-led execution and potential overload.112162131747181415 Pricing has climbed into the higher end for Thailand. Expectations should be set to some variability: the median result we see is very good, but the spread includes enough weaker outcomes that risk-sensitive or once-only candidates may want to compare options within the same clinic, especially Dr Ratchathorn, or other surgeons with tighter result distributions.192021161389714158

Absolute Hair Clinic performs FUE with both shaven and non-shaven options, and charges more for non-shaven and donor-only shave approaches.19212216232 From what we have seen, Dr Laorwong typically handles the key steps: he designs the hairline, creates the incisions, and is reported to do shaving and at least some extractions, while technicians perform much or all implantation and, in at least one account, 100% of extractions.121621323174718141515 Several patients note you can tell when he is in the room because staff behavior and noise levels change, which supports a hybrid doctor-plus-technicians model rather than doctor-only work.2171814 Scheduling is structured. Reports mention 1 to 2 surgeries per day per doctor, with afternoon slots capped by graft ranges and larger cases booked on full days.12177 In one account we reviewed, a 2800-graft crown case ran from 15:00 to 23:00, with Dr Laorwong active for shaving and extractions and returning near the end for checks.14 Optional add-ons include stem cell treatment and a hyperbaric oxygen chamber, sold on top of per-graft pricing.13217 Standard protocols include multi-day in-clinic aftercare (often 5 days included, with extra days for a fee) and prescribed medications such as antibiotics, pain control, anti-inflammatories, oral minoxidil, and finasteride.161321772425 Payment is commonly by card or bank transfer, though at least one patient paid in USD cash and noted favorable exchange compared with money changers.16 The doctors share the same technician pool and aftercare infrastructure across the clinic, including with Dr Ratchathorn.17471826

We have read many detailed accounts describing dense, natural-looking hairlines and strong transformations by 6 to 12+ months, with some patients calling the results life-changing and among the best they have seen.1202728629307311532 Several patients praise his ability to match native angulation and to design asymmetric, irregular hairlines that avoid a straight or artificial look.13176726 Donor recovery is often described as fast and clean, with minimal scarring or scabbing even in large 3.5k to 4.5k cases. A few reports note day 1 to 2 donor appearance similar to a typical day 3, and a 3600-graft case where the donor looked almost untouched by day 6.13217630732 There are, however, real misses. We have seen a 5-month case with essentially no observable growth being discussed as a probable failure, and another account of persistent patchy density after 2500 grafts that led the patient to book a second surgery with a different doctor.8915 Some patients also report small zones of low density or a minor dead patch likely tied to early folliculitis, yet still rate the overall outcome as good.2930 A repair case from a Turkish hair mill documented clear improvement and regret about not choosing him initially, which points to credible repair capability while also highlighting that his better outcomes sit alongside weaker ones in the same practice.6 Community observers note that compared with some peers, his outcome distribution looks wider, with more visible misses relative to certain top-tier surgeons who post fewer but more uniformly strong results.98

From what we have seen, the clinic runs efficiently and professionally. The feel is straight business and well-oiled rather than boutique and hand-holding.1122231747185 Pre-op consults with Dr Laorwong usually last about 10 to 30 minutes. Patients consistently say he listens, measures carefully, draws multiple hairline options, and is receptive to feedback, though his demeanor is quiet and focused.213102317475 Several reports say he matched or refined pre-planned sketches with subtle asymmetry tailored to facial structure.317726 English communication is generally reported as fluent or near-fluent.4 Aftercare is a repeated strong point. Many stay 5 to 10 days, receive daily washes and ointment from nurses, and feel this reduces anxiety. Extra days can be purchased at relatively low cost.16217724 Medication regimens are detailed and structured, typically including antibiotics, paracetamol, Valium, Arcoxia, oral minoxidil, and steroids for swelling.132 Not all experiences are positive. We have read complaints that the consent paperwork overstated how much work the doctor would personally do, that he spent minimal visible time in the room, and that quality sometimes felt secondary to throughput.16 We also saw a report that more grafts were harvested and billed than planned without clear intra-operative consent, which left the patient financially stressed.15 Multiple patients note a very busy environment, with both doctors often doing two sessions most days, and caution that this workload could lead to occasional rushing or small inaccuracies, especially on touch-ups.17724

Pricing has risen steadily and now sits high by Thai standards. Reported per-graft rates moved from about 65 THB historically to 70, 80, 90, and most recently 100 THB for certain options.19202122 Recent figures include about 80 THB per graft for larger shaven cases around or above 3 to 3.5k grafts, 90 THB for smaller shaven cases, and 100 THB for donor-only shave or fully non-shaven FUE.1920212223230 Concrete examples: one December 2024 case paid 80 THB for 4607 grafts, and a February 2025 case with 4351 grafts also paid 80 THB. Several 4k+ cases quote totals around USD 8k to 11k excluding travel, with deposits in the 20,000 to 35,000 THB range credited to the final bill.192116217303125 A 2586-graft surgery at 90 THB with stem cell treatment and oxygen chamber totaled about USD 7,641 versus roughly USD 6,600 without the add-ons.132 A 3k to 4k non-shave quote at 100 THB per graft was estimated around USD 8k to 10k.21 Some observers call him “crazy expensive these days,” while others view 80 to 90 THB as fair for the perceived quality and reputation.202230 Extra aftercare days are mentioned at roughly USD 20 per day, and there are contrasting notes that Dr Ratchathorn may occasionally include bonus grafts without charge while Dr Laorwong is said to bill for all extras.72415 Payment options include credit cards, WISE transfers when available, USD cash, and deposits paid in advance.16217

The biggest repeated risk is technician-heavy execution. Multiple reports say technicians perform 100% of extractions in some cases and most or all implantation, with the doctor focused on design, incisions, and periodic checks. At least two patients felt the consent they signed overstated his hands-on role.1216132317471814 Combined with a high daily case volume, this raises understandable worries about hair-mill dynamics, fatigue, and rushed segments, particularly for touch-ups or end-of-day work.1161771824 Result consistency is another issue. We have seen reports of patchy density and a 5-month case with no meaningful growth that was discussed as a failed transplant, alongside comments questioning whether the clinic has scaled too fast. Some seasoned observers also perceive more weak outcomes here than with a few similarly hyped peers.8915 We also reviewed a case where low-density spots and hairline asymmetries were left unaddressed, which the patient attributed to the doctor spending only minutes in the room near the end and prioritizing speed, requiring a small fix a few days later and possibly another repair later on.16 Another report describes roughly 200 more grafts harvested and billed than planned without clear intra-operative consent, raising ethical and financial concerns.15 There is a structural risk that all doctors at Absolute Hair Clinic share the same technician pool, so any systemic technician-level issue could affect both surgeons, though current negative reports naturally cluster more around Dr Laorwong given his longer track record and volume.8718268 Some users also worry about overharvesting and donor management at higher counts, and a general note that non-shaven procedures may carry higher infection risk, although this is presented as a technique caveat rather than an observed cluster at this clinic.2371424

Best-suited candidates are those with strong donors who want a high-density FUE and are comfortable with a fast-moving, technician-heavy setup where the surgeon focuses on design, extractions, and incisions rather than every implantation. Some tolerance for variability is important.11223174307181415 Patients who arrive with a clear, realistic hairline concept and advocate for details during consultation appear to get particularly good design outcomes, including conservative, asymmetric, and irregular patterns tailored to age and facial structure.311177526 This clinic also looks rational for repair after low-quality mills, with several positive repair narratives and solid donor handling in larger sessions.3614 Those who are highly risk-averse or cannot easily absorb the chance of patchy growth or a corrective surgery should be cautious. We have seen credible accounts of failed or underwhelming growth and patients opting to switch surgeons, including within the same clinic, for refinements.8972415 If you value extensive bedside interaction, hand-holding, or a slower, more consultative approach, we think his partner Dr Ratchathorn or other high-touch surgeons may be a better fit.163317471826 Budget-sensitive patients should also note that his prices are now near the top of the Thai market. If cost per graft is the priority, it is worth comparing alternatives in Thailand and abroad.19202122173031
