Rahal is a Canadian hair transplant surgeon based in Ottawa, with additional activity in Toronto for services like PRP.3 From what we have seen, he is long-established and closely followed by patients over many years.12 He is positioned at the premium end of the Canadian market, and has been described by the former Hair Transplant Network publisher as an elite surgeon and Coalition member.4 Community feedback still credits him with a strong historical reputation and being well known for a reason, though a few voices question whether his protocols and quality control have slipped compared with earlier years.156 Patients often describe his consult style as direct and real talk, and his name clearly carries weight when Canadians compare options.276

From what we have seen, Rahal’s documented work is FUE. Patients often describe the clinic as smooth and professional, with multiple reports of superb or great experiences and willingness to recommend or return for more work.154273 Many appreciate Rahal’s direct style and explanations around donor metrics, shock loss, density planning, and hairline logic.218 One consult account highlights proactive answers on density and shock loss and a hairline tailored to bone structure.18 For out-of-town visitors, we have seen references to guesthouse stays included with surgery, which some say reduces stress.84 Travel logistics from nearby US cities also appear straightforward when bundled with the guesthouse.8 The main complaints we’ve seen involve limited pre-op access to the surgeon during quoting and a technician-heavy day in the OR, which some accept and others dislike.1095 Post-op follow-up is described as responsive, with the clinic confirming that regrowth timing varies and reassuring patients about temporary donor shock loss when it occurs.193

Rahal prices per graft, and reports consistently cluster around CAD 5–7 per graft depending on timing and context.138202154222173 In 2023, one patient cited a standard CAD 6.50 per graft reduced to CAD 5.00 due to a cancelled slot for 1,654 grafts, including the guesthouse.8 A 2022 quote of roughly 1,500 grafts came in around CAD 10,000.10 Multiple 2024–2025 notes cite about CAD 6 per graft, including totals around CAD 13,000 for roughly 2,200 grafts and quotes near CAD 13,300 before tax.208 Others mention CAD 5–6 and CAD 7 per graft, with total bills like CAD 15,000 for just over 3,000 grafts, CAD 18,000, and about CAD 24,000 for 3,633 grafts.2354222 Some find this very expensive, including a near-CAD 20,000 quote for someone around Norwood 2,24 and there are comparisons to lower-graft estimates and lower total costs from another Toronto surgeon.16 Several users compare these prices to Turkey, citing potential savings of CAD 10,000–20,000 for similar or higher graft counts, which underscores Rahal’s premium global positioning.254223 We also saw mentions of discounted PRP packages for Rahal’s HT patients.3

Rahal suits patients who want FUE in Canada, accept premium pricing, value a long-standing name, and are comfortable with a model where the surgeon designs, anesthetizes, and makes incisions while technicians handle most extractions and implanting.89542223 The best-aligned cases tend to be hairline and frontal work in the 1,200–3,600 graft range, on medical therapy or willing to use it, and looking for direct, data-driven planning.2183 Local patients in Ottawa or Toronto who want to avoid international travel and like the convenience of an included guesthouse and PRP follow-up may also find the setup practical.843 Budget-sensitive patients and those seeking large sessions of 3,000–4,000+ grafts who are open to traveling often find significantly better value with reputable surgeons abroad, with credible reports of CAD 10,000–20,000 in savings for comparable graft counts.254223 Patients who strongly prefer surgeon-only or boutique, low-throughput work, want extensive pre-payment access to the surgeon, or are uneasy about reports of pluggy hairlines or perceived decline may be better served elsewhere.91056 Diffuse thinners should proceed carefully, as at least one reported case was declined due to the difficulty of placing densely around native hairs.27
